Other Businesses Send “Thank You for Subscribing” emails- So can you!

If you’ve opted in to any department store, clothing store or shoe store’s special promotion email list, you’ve probably received a “Thank You For Subscribing” email. Often these Thank You emails include special discounts on your next order, free shipping or a special code that can be used for a discounted online purchase.

We all know how difficult it is to get customers to give us their email addresses so we can email them weekly ads and special promotions. The very last thing we need is for a customer who has elected to opt-in to your email database to unsubscribe.

It’s our job to send them eBlast offers with great values week in and week out. We email customers “mediocre” eBlast offers and it’s very easy for them to unsubscribe.

Why not start out on the right foot with each new subscriber by sending them a “Thank You For Subscribing” email. Actually this is a confirmation to your customer for joining your database and a Thank You for being your customer.

If you select an item that you can use for a long period of time (like a case of free water), we’ll keep sending your new subscribers this Thank You coupon until you notify us to take it down. Some retailers have the expiration date of 12/31/2014.

You should select an item that you’re confident you’ll always have in stock. It’s not a good idea to offer a free item “Thank You” and not have product on hand.

You will also need to provide your PLU number and an expiration date.
